Lifeguard Services

Expert Training and Certification

Saving lives isn’t a job to take lightly! Umbrella Aquatic Group certified trainers provide the highest level of training that prepares each participant to be a well rounded and prepared lifeguard. Umbrella will handle all the training for those looking to lifeguard for the first time or for those whose certifications have expired. Our class work is done both a in-person and blended learning course format.

 

The prerequisites for this course include being 15 years of age by the last day of the course, and passing the pre-course swimming skills test.

Skills Test Details: 

* 300 Yard Swim (300 yards of freestyle or breaststroke).

* Swim out 20 yards, surface dive 7ft – 10ft deep, retrieve a 10 pound weight from the bottom of the pool, return to the surface, and swim it back 20 yards to the start position. Timed at 1 minute and 40 seconds.

* Tread water with no arms for 2 minutes.

Successful participants will receive Lifeguard Certifications from Red Cross as well as CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications which they are certified for 2 years.

Classes will be held at First Christian Church in Kernersville.  Participants will need to complete ALL days of class in order to be eligible for certification.  

 

Class Cost: $300

Reimbursement eligible for: A contracted employee guarding at Umbrella Aquatic Group locations, meeting employment requirements.

Re-Certification

Class Dates

Classes will be held at First Christian Church in Kernersville.  Participants will need to complete both days of class in order to be eligible for certification.

*Original certification must be within 30 days of expiration or before. If the current certification has expired longer than 30 days, you must participate and complete the full certification course.  

 

Class Cost: $200

Reimbursement eligible for: A contracted employee guarding at Umbrella Aquatic Group locations, meeting employment requirements.

As an public educator, guard, and coach, Instructor Sarah uses her years of experience to provide a well rounded, clear, creative, and structured setting for prospective lifeguards and recertification guards to receive their training.

We’re dedicated to ensuring high quality courses taught by talented and well knowledgeable and experienced instructors. Across three locations in the Triad, we provide a variety of American Red Cross Certifications.

Lifeguard Certification

American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses.

Recertification - Lifeguarding

Recertification option for currently certified lifeguards. Review skills include water rescues, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and first aid. The course incorporates a blended learning format with online training videos, classroom skills and water rescue activities.

CPR/First Aid/AED Training

American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies.

The courses in this program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This
